In 1995, my life took a sharp turn when my then-husband suffered a serious accident that left him in a wheelchair for nearly a year. At the time, I was immersed in graduate studies in Ceramics, but this life-altering event set me on a new path. The experience sparked a spiritual journey of soul searching, healing, and studying the power of mindset. Even my art evolved—my porcelain creations transformed from functional forms to sculptures that explored healing and light.
Years later, life brought more challenges: a divorce, owning and selling a retail pottery business, and a breast cancer diagnosis. These experiences deepened my understanding of how mindset and faith in a higher power (whatever name you use—God, Universe, etc.) can lead to profound transformation. I’ve witnessed firsthand that with the right focus, connection and action, we are capable of far more than we imagine.
Having grown up in Northwest Arkansas and DFW Texas, and living in other places like Santa Fe, NM, I’ve traveled extensively and built connections with people across the globe. I believe our “tribe”—the people we surround ourselves with—is as important as our mindset in shaping our happiness and success. The saying, “You are the sum of the five people you spend the most time with,” resonates deeply with me. My journey has taught me that through faith, focus, and meaningful relationships, almost anything is possible.
I don't walk women to the threshold of their third act from the comfort of theory — I've stood at that threshold myself, more than once. Every reinvention in my story (caregiving through crisis, a divorce, creating and then letting go of a business, healing through cancer) taught me the same truth: who you were is not who you're becoming, and the becoming is braver and so much sweeter when someone who's lived it walks beside you.
